THERE CAME AN ECHO

OPENING CINEMATIC
Iridium Studios contacted me in September to animate the opening title sequence for their sophomore release There Came An Echo, coming February 2015. I chose a limited color palette and used the game’s font – novecento sans – throughout.
Building off of the dialogue and the theme of the game, I decided to tell the story of Val, a god, and her journey from Iris, another god, to the player prior to the start of the game. The landscape is a vast set of low-poly and three-dimensional land forms and wastelands — simultaneously stylized, futuristic, and high tech. Creating these worlds in After Effects afforded me a great deal of flexibility in manipulating and animating them.
